On Wednesday, May 29, everybody expects a Roland-Garros finale between Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal. It would take us a week to see if those expectations would come true.
Thursday, May 30, a French court found the French rapper, Orselan, guilty of defaming women, whom he describes as bitches (chiennes) or dirty whores (sale pute). In reply, The Rolling Stone Magazine wrote an article promoting Public Enemy and its Sophisticated Bitch lyrics as one of the most influential Top 100 artists (http://www.rollingstone.com/music/lists/100-greatest-artists-of-all-time-19691231/public-enemy-20110420).
Friday, May 31, a few French judges worked overtime to avenge the honor of France and its First Lady, Valérie Trierweiler, who days later would win her defamation lawsuit against the authors of La Frondeuse – a book which claimed she had simultaneous liaisons with President Hollande and a center-right politician, Patrick Devedjian. Patrick would also win his own defamation lawsuit against the same book’s authors. Patrick was horrified to hear claims that he had bed a woman whose thighs are the width of the English Channel, Le Figaro quoted the right wing leader’s court brief, unwillingly admitting Patrick had seen those thighs closely.
June 1st was proclaimed International Children’s Day by The World Conference for the Well-being of Children in Geneva, Switzerland in 1925, but only China continues to celebrate it.
Sunday, June 2, TPV went to theater and Daniel Schmutzhard, who played the younger Casanova to John Malkovitch’s frailer version, in The Giacomo Variations, offered its founder a white rose.
