TheWeekholeView – Man-made Fertilizer or Animal-made Manure, That Is the Question

Here, each hole starts on Wednesdays and this is what fell through this past week:
On Wednesday, April 17, 2013, a fertilizer plant exploded in Waco, Texas – the place made famous by the Branch Davidians.

The current estimate of casualties is pegged at 170 wounded and 5-15 people killed, although those numbers could rise dramatically. The federal Chemical Safety Board will look into the cause of the explosion, despite recent revelations that it’s still tied up looking at the BP oil spill.

On Thursday, April 18, nothing much happened outside Boston.

On Friday, April 19, people donated more than $1 billion for the medical bills amassed by the victims of the bombing at the Boston Marathon – http://money.cnn.com/2013/04/19/pf/crowdfunding-boston-victims/.

On Saturday, April 20, our nation started the much needed discussion about whether we should abandon Miranda rights now that we can catch everybody red-handed on someone’s phone camera. Senator Lindsey Graham also suggested we drop the category of suspect, and then the right to trial before execution.  The Department of  Justice screamed “Hallelujah,” which happens to be a song by Leonard Cohen.[youtube id= YrLk4vdY28Q width=470 height=315]

On Sunday, April 21, the Department of Justice wrote the statement charging Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, the younger suspect in the Boston Marathon bombing,  “with using a weapon of mass destruction against persons and property” – while the young 19 year old was still in the hospital.

On Monday, April 22, TPV finally learned about what happened to Jeremy Lin and linsanity (http://nyti.ms/17Gp3cx).

On Tuesday, April 23, TPV learned that the serious media had pondered spreading the news about a plot to bomb a train arriving in the States from Canada, but after meeting with the Secretary of Transportation it became obvious that there was no need: all trains running on electricity and NOT on oil or gas obtained from fracking would be dismantled before the end of the month.
