North Carolina’s Republican primary campaign to choose the party’s candidate for the Fall U.S. Senate election has become the epitome of American politics.
The Republicans are designing the national political expectation and the Democrats are napping: the moral role of guns in promoting family unity and child welfare (candidate Tills); Jesus First when you have guests for dinner (candidate Harris) or political rights (candidate Brannon). Now, the fact that someone is willing to talk about political rights could be interesting. The kicker is that the political rights invoked by Greg Brannon come directly from Jesus and his times: Brannon’s spit which counts for thought down there in the South is lugubrious:
- Planned Parenthood has a secret plan to kill newborn babies;
- Food stamps hold people in slavery
- Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) knows what he says.
Brannon is steadily becoming famous because his anti-Washington stance.
Tillis, the House speaker who leads the pack, and who has the support of establishment groups as well as most GOP congressional leaders, also has Karl Rove spending $1.1 million on TV ads on his behalf. Tillis is a “moderate,” he just wants corporate staus-quo.
The Jesus First candidate may soon back out because his main endorser, Mike Huckabee, may soon be asked to do so.
Now, why all this rush to the mattresses among the Republicans, when either one should be great? TPV would go a bit further and, paraphrasing Marilyn, would say and dick would do, so chill GOP.
Apparently chilling is hard because come July 15, in case of a runoff, only the poor and the nitwits flocking to the Tea Party would show up to vote while the corporate wing of the GOP would be bathing in the sun at the beach.
So, summarizing this GOP primary race for the senatorial candidate to take on the Democratic woman Kay Hagan, what will happen there would easily embolden things in other places. Its slogans will become the slogans Tar Boilers will use as political standard for the senatorial election, which could change the Senate party control, if Ms Hagan’s democratic femininity stops being sufficient to ensure her reelection.

Food stamps hold people in slavery [Everyone knows food is addictive, and addiction is slavery – there’s a reason they say successful people are those who “stay hungry!” So food stamps are kind of a metaphor for slavery, too!
