The NSA as Comic Book Javert

beyond snowdenFormer National Security Agency contractor turned whistle-blower Edward Snowden is about to become a comic book character.

“I found him to be a very fascinating person,” the Brooklyn, N.Y., based writer Valerie D’Orazio, told USA TODAY Network.

In this biopic comic story, entitled Beyond Edward Snowden, Snowden starts off as a playful young geek and turns into someone who steals a loaf, or a lot, of information only to give it to the needy ignorant people surrounding him.

“I think what he did in terms of letting the public know about data collection was really important,” said D’Orazio, who formerly worked for Acclaim and DC Comics, “and I believe that the NSA and even Obama, have behaved very …obtusely.” D’Orazie finally said using a euphemism for jackass.

It took two months to collect information for the series, D’Orazio said. Most of the time was spent on finding an image to portray the NSA.
