Valerie, the neurotic pretty girl who grew up into a hysterical hag, wrote a score-settling memoir which happens to be a tragic and demeaning tale of a little man who stumbled upon the French presidency. Now, many men have stumbled upon various presidencies. In fact it is rare that a person has ever deserved the presidency upon whose throne that person’s ended up sitting, but le pauvre Hollande did not deserve this trash to be thrown at him.
That such trash was published shows the strength of the French democracy, and its foolishness.
Here are some reactions to this word-made merde:
ParisMatch has excerpts of the book, and they shock the reader’s sensibility by their bad writing. Now, pornography is a well developed genre in France’s high society. Here is a name better known to the American public: everything Michel Houellebecq writes. And a master of disturbing revelations: Edward St. Aubyn, a 21st Century Proust with a most refreshing wit, whose style she could have copied in between swallowing various sleeping pills.
So, who encouraged this little hag to publish her vomit? That’s the question TPV will try to answer.

Nice turn of phrase word-made merde – so you’re saying there’s no rush to buy the hard cover, rather wait for the paperback, or the movie/
