The Inexplicable Value of Women in Power

Susan Sarandon, according to Maureen Dowd, summarized it best for the rest of us in awe of accomplished women in power:

“you can’t just vote your vagina.” (Susan Sarandon  said it as an excuse or explanation why she will not support a candidate for Mayor of New York City just because)

Today, yet, another woman caught TPV’s attention. She is a judge, Col. Denise Lind, who sentenced Army Pfc. Bradley Manning, 25 years old, to 35 years in prison after finding him guilty of providing a trove of sensitive government documents to WikiLeaks. And to make sure that no one calls her softy, she reduced Manning’s rank to that of private and ordered his dishonorable discharge.

That’s a woman after TPV’s taste, if TPV were to be in search for a mate who can do the opposite of “to mete out justice and punishment”. No metaphors come to mind.
