TheWeekholeView: The Free World Surprises

[embedyt]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3EKeMul91VI[/embedyt]Here, each hole starts on Wednesdays and this is what fell through this past week, in more than one way or day:

On Wednesday, November 5, Keira Knightley explained her topless August picture for Interview magazine and the photographer, Patrick Demarchelier:

“I’ve had my body manipulated so many different times for so many different reasons, whether it’s paparazzi photographers or for film posters, that I decided to pose one more time and use the Photoshop Editor myself.

Thursday, November 6, Photoshop shares skyrocketed.

[embedyt]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-j7diMeJfgY[/embedyt]On Friday, November 7, former film star turned animal rights activist, France’s Brigitte Bardot, issued a call  for the President of Nepal to ban what she termed was “the greatest collective sacrifice of animals in the world”.

To everybody’s surprise, the sacrifice went ahead but it did spare three turtles.

On Saturday, November 8, two Americans were released from North Korea.

“I understand the crimes they committed,” Dennis Rodman wrote to his North Korean president, “and ask you my dear friend, the highly respected Marshall Kim Jong-un for their release to show my country how loving and compassionate you and the DPRK can be,” Dennis further added.

To everybody’ s surprise, the Americans arrived in the US.

On Sunday, November 9, more than 300,000 people gathered to commemorate the Berlin Walls’s collapse. Most of them were too young to remember Ronald Reagan, which meant they were very much like he was when the Wall crumbled down: forgetful – he had Alzheimer.

On Monday, November 10, President Barack Obama emailed fans his support for Net Neutrality.

“Now that I have nothing else to do I expect to doodle online and connect to my base freely and without any competition from big companies –Republican backers.” Then the president remembered his appointments to the FCC and asked Malia for one of her notepads.

On Tuesday, November 11, CNN broadcast:

“While Xi was distracted talking to U.S. President Barack Obama, Russia’s tiger-shooting, horseback-riding president Vladimir Putin abruptly stood up, grasped a tan coat in both hands, and wrapped it chivalrously around China’s first lady’s shoulders. She smiled gracefully, thanked him, and sat down — only to surreptitiously slip the coat from her shoulders moments later into the waiting arms of an attendant.”

To the contrary, nothing could be found about this event on Baidu.

  1. Profiles in courage: I think I really don’t get it but here goes, Keira Knightly posed naked to show what, that the rest of us should display our naked selves proudly without the usual Photoshop treatment? I only wish that I wasn’t at work and could fully appreciate the breadth and depth of her personal sacrifice. Well, if she can do it, I’m ready for my close-up.

Thanks TPV as always, for your best of the web visual’s, even with the Youtube arrow across her face, and no Photoshop, she’s a nice looking person – and I’m not just saying that.

  2. I can’t believe poor, little, Napal is outdoing the U S of A when it comes to sacrificing animals!? Or does she mean when it’s not for eating? In any case, come-on guys, let’s supersize it for the team – we’re number 1!

  3. I thought this was nice: Dennis Rodman wrote to his North Korean president. But did he rescue any turtles?

  4. I bet Putin’s hotel room number was in his coat pocket – though I suppose with these high power folks, that’s what chivalry is all about.
