TheWeekholeView: and the Winner Is this SelfieTaker

guyHere, each hole starts on Wednesdays and this is what fell through this past week, in more than one way or day:

On Wednesday, May 28, a French right wing mayor decided to give children of unemployed people less services. Under his watch only public school pupils of employed parents would benefit from supervised study hall hours in the morning. The others would only be “welcomed” into the school. Probably to watch their more fortunate peers how they learn to get ahead in life.

On Thursday, May 29, the Supreme Court published a few more decisions with the intention to have them re-written shortly.

Friday, May 30, President Obama congratulated himself for freeing an American soldier held in captivity for 5 years.

One every five years is not a bad record, Secretary of State John Kerry was heard saying, while former ex-lady and presidential candidate Hillary choked on a chicken bone not too far.

On Saturday, May 31, veterans were celebrated here, while the French started a national discussion about the secondary effects of the allied invasion (D-Day), such as prostitution, rape, or just normal crusaders’ behavior.

On Sunday, June 1, Hillary signed a dozen of copies of her new memoir in a Barnes and Noble near you. The one whose address was not listed.

On Monday, June 2, Lee Thompson, travel blogger and daredevil photographer, managed to climb inside Rio de Janeiro’s Christ the Redeemer statue and snap a picture of himself at the top.

“As I popped my head out of the hole in Jesus’ crown, I remembered everything I read about  acrophobia, claustrophobia and profound awe to be inside Jesus. This literary moment was something truly remarkable.”

On Tuesday, June 3, 2014, seven little dwarfs made it to Brussels to meet in what is also known as G7. They mostly discussed adopting Snow White and getting rid of the step mother. Putin stayed home and wondered what went wrong.

  1. Regarding France – are they blazing the trail, or are they following our lead? It’s hard to tell the winners in the race to the bottom, easier (and sadder) to pick the losers.

  2. Regarding the memoir, guess I won’t have to wait long for a 70% off remainder copy – Signed by the Author! I wondered if Ross Perot hadn’t run for president as publicity for his company and books, or at least figured (as he was clearly not winning) that he had everything to gain – wondering again.
