Jesus on My Mind (and His Wife, too)

For Terrence McNally in  “Corpus Christi,”  Jesus was a gay man growing up in 1950s Texas.  For Mitt Romey, Jesus is a complicated creature whose name requires millions and millions of dollars – the Mormon Church is the only charity Mitt-the-Billionaire contributes to directly or not. For me, Jesus still lives in Jerusalem with Moishe and the other guy and they make selected appearances on random days to selected tourists.

Anyhow, I do not know how I ended up here, when all I wanted to say was that I am thrilled. Finally, after 2000 years, Jesus’ wife made an appearance.  Four hundred years after Jesus died, a Coptic disciple –  no, not the one who made The Innocence of Muslims, his great, great, great, great-grandfather — mentioned Jesus’ wife in writing on a small piece of papyrus which was just discovered—mysteriously.

It is a miracle! It is a miracle that The New York Times wrote about it, because without the old media giving credence to new media hoaxes, very little entertainment will ever happen.  Oh, that was the gist of Roger Cohen’s  piece The New York Times published yesterday.

  1. I did not get your joke until the end. The butt of your joke was the New York Times, correct?
