Three Criminals. Three Schmucks

In response to the Charlie Hebdo‘s best wishes tweet, sent to everybody including, the leader of ISIS, “Meilleurs vœux, au fait,” two brothers and a lesser guy started a killing spree at the journal’s headquarters.

Undoubtedly, not the most brotherly response, Mohammed might have thought, but those French speaking fans of his begged to differ.

They started the shooting screaming the name of Mohammed‘s boss, Allah.

Now, what can we do against religious terrorism?  Very little other than geographically dividing the globe, TPV proposes.

Let’s have the United Nations handle a referendum asking people where they want to live. Maybe a huge part of the world would be assigned to the 15th century era, I don’t know. But the United Nations would be able to accommodate each demand, ending with a parcel for those who want to live in the 21st century. Of course, the borders would be porous, and whenever a person wants to progress to a more recent century they can, and vice-versa, they can move backwards as well. Every five years the United Nations would reconsider the division and re-approve the borders.

The main idea is not to mix the residents of different centuries. If one chooses to live in the 15th century, then they should not have access to the Internet, TV and especially satirical journals and Kalashnikovs. They cannot handle anything I fear, not even a fork and a knife.

Any other suggestions?

  1. Nice — I like the idea (and well put) but I’m starting to wonder if it’s safe to have language of any kind, any expression of thought, in proximity to knives or guns.

I guess we have to start somewhere.

  2. Interesting suggestion by Dana “The main idea is not to mix the residents of different centuries. 3. I do not know too much about India. But my guess is that 15th century was pretty much a slum for everybody save the 1/%

  4. How is the conversation coming on to India now .. As for FYI for ppl not with much knowledge about Indian history .. India used to be the country with the largest collection of rare metals and minerals including expensive stones like diamonds .. Of course until British ruled and robbed the country for 300 years and most of our costliest stones are still stored in British museums or somewhere in the queen’s collection.. And yes “Slum” is a relative term.. If you really look at Europe .. Half of it is still a slum with second biggest human trafficking racket in the world … Wealth was and still is not equally divided in India which was the problem in 15th century and will be a problem till it’s there same as Europe …
